The 15th Floor Problem
The monolithic modular is the perfect sofa for you. It is deep, wide, and wrapped in Italian velvet. It is exactly 3.2 meters long and perfect for the main wall in your new apartment.
You order it and have to wait six weeks.
Then the truck arrives. The delivery team unloads it. They carry it to the lobby. And then everyone stops.
The elevator door is only 2.1 meters high.
The sofa does not fit. It won’t fit in the service lift. It won’t turn the tight corner in the stairwell.
Suddenly, your beautiful new furniture is a logistical nightmare. You are left with two terrible choices: hire a crane to hoist it over the balcony (which costs millions), or cut the frame and ruin the integrity of the piece.
This happens every day in Lagos. But it doesn’t have to happen to you.
Monolithic Modular Design

At Majeurs, we believe you shouldn’t have to shrink your furniture just because you live on a high floor. You just need furniture that is smarter than the elevator.
We use a design technique called Monolithic Modular.
Here is the difference:
- Standard Modular: Looks like separate blocks pushed together. You can see the gaps, and it looks temporary.
- Monolithic Modular: Looks like one solid, continuous piece of art. But under the fabric, it is engineered to separate.
The Majeurs Way
We build the frame in independent sections. We use heavy-duty steel connectors hidden deep inside the structure to lock them together.
- We Build: We construct the full 3-meter sofa in our factory to ensure the pattern flows perfectly across the seams.
- We Split: We disassemble it into manageable pieces that fit through any standard door (750mm width).
- We Install: Our team carries the boxes up the elevator, into your living room, and bolts them back together.
Once we smooth the fabric, the joint disappears. It sits solid. It feels heavy. It looks like it was built inside the room.
The Walk-the-Path Rule
Before you buy a large piece of furniture for a high-rise apartment, do not just measure the room. Measure the journey.
Take a walk from the delivery dock to your front door.
- How tall is the elevator door?
- Is there a bulkhead in the hallway?
- How tight is the turn into your apartment?
If the path is tight, you need Modular.
Don’t compromise on size. We have engineered a collection of luxury sofas specifically designed for high-rise living. They offer the Monolithic look of a custom showroom piece, with the Modular flexibility to fit in any lift.
